Posture: Cobblers or Bound Angle Pose

Sanskrit - Baddha Konasana

"When I started going (to yoga), my life at that time was really busy, so the classes felt like such a relief from a really chaotic life. I would go into the yoga studio and it was the only thing I did for the whole time. The time passed without being aware of the time.

Posture: Tree pose

"Because you can't win at yoga, I was drawn to it for the challenge of trying to do something where I didn't get to win but actually on reflection I was still using yoga in that way because I was still tied to meditating every day, writing in my journal every day.

Now, I really have to question, who is it for? Is it to feel like I'm doing a good job (at meditation), to tick the box and I then deserve to get to sleep because I've been good that day? So I'm really trying to notice that and accept it for what it is."

Posture: Revolved Head to Knee Pose

Sanskrit - Parivrtta Janu Sirsasana

"For me the best yoga practice is where the music is a wee bit too loud, the brain volume is turned down so I'm feeling it more. Or if I'm just in a really good mindful frame of mind. If I'm just feeling it, it's genuinely not hard work and I'm not worrying about what I look like. To me that's the closest to yoga, when you're just moving. It's very rare. I did a session where there was a harpist. It was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had. The sensory aspect was so strong, I forgot I was part of a group with other people watching."
