This week we have a fast moving Vinyasa Flow with options to try a couple of versions of Wild Thing. Someone in class started singing, "Wild Thing..... You make my heart sing." And I wonder if that's how it got its name. It's definitely a heart opening posture and in Sanskrit it means ‘camatka’ = ‘astonished’ or ‘surprised’. I love it and do feel like I'm opening my heart to the sky when I do it.
It does require a lot of strength and a good amount of flexibility for backward bends with the spine, so tread carefully with it and practice the knee down version for a while until you feel strong and confident to do it on your feet.
I'm posting it earlier this week in case anyone wants to do it on Friday morning.
